The Mass Bay Radio Communications Association (MBRCA) maintains several GMRS Repeaters that are available for club members and the public for both general and emergency communications.
Many of these repeaters require the owner’s permission prior to use. Authorization may be requested through the web site MyGMRS.com by looking up the repeaters name in the state it resides. In addition, each repeater listed on this page will have a direct link to the authorization request page. Some repeaters are open to all without prior authorization and will be noted as such.
For MeshCore users, the club has placed repeaters around the Boston area. All of these are available for free use by the public. You do not need to perform any steps to connect as MeshCore is automatic when relaying messages. The current group of club MeshCore repeaters is listed below and is for informational purposes only so you recognize them on the Mesh.
In addition to repeaters, many of our Club Members and Emergency Management Professionals participate in regular GMRS Radio Nets. These are scheduled gatherings of GMRS radio users who communicate with each other, often for emergency preparedness and coordination. These are also listed on this page. For a more detailed description of a GMRS Radio Net, check out our blog post on the subject.
